Question Crafter Do’s & Don’ts

To help you get started and be fully prepared as soon as you get your hands on the Question Crafter, we thought it would be helpful to provide some Do’s & Don’tswhen it comes to using the tool. This way, you should hopefully be able to utilize it to its fullest potential and avoid beginner’s mistakes that will end up frustrating you.

DO’s

• Chunk the learning material, before uploading it to the Question Crafter. If you want to use a specific part of a document instead of a huge comprehensive document with dozens of topics, you can make it easier for the Question Crafter if you only upload the relevant pages.
• Leave out information that is not relevant for your drill. Are there multiple topics in a certain document, but you only want to generate a drill on a specific topic? Then either omit this information from the uploaded file or indicate it in the Settings section of the Question Crafter.
• Specify which target group the drill is created for. **** Generate content for a specific target audience by indicating the language level, average age, position, work experience, and whatever else is relevant for them.

DON’Ts

• Get frustrated when generating the content takes a couple of minutes. **** Keep in mind that waiting a few minutes for Question Crafter to generate content is still a huge time saver compared to manually creating the content.
• Stress out when you do not immediately get the desired quality of output. **** The content can easily be re-generated. If you do not improve or modify the quality of the input, you will most likely get similar results. So try to analyze which improvements you want to see, change the input and try again.
