Learning with you
We started Drillster because we saw colleagues struggling to retain what they learned. Knowledge fades fast, and traditional training wastes time. We built something better.

From an idiom trainer to enterprise learning
Back in high school, our co-founder Thomas built a program to help classmates learn languages. Years later, while learning Japanese, he picked up that same idea and refined it with proven teaching methods. When his former colleague Marco saw the potential for enterprise learning, Drillster was born. On October 1, 2011, they started in a small office in Vleuten with one employee: Tom, who is still with us today.

Learning should not be frustrating
Your brain forgets. That is biology, not failure. Within days of training, most knowledge fades. Traditional solutions respond with more training, more time, more cost. We took a different approach: adaptive learning that works with your brain, not against it. Our platform uses cognitive science and spaced repetition to reinforce knowledge exactly when it is about to fade. The result? Less time training, more knowledge retained.
