Global warming. Fossil fuels. Non-renewable energy sources. The list keeps growing.
People everywhere are grappling with these challenges, and Drillster wants to play its part in accelerating sustainability and improving the way we manage raw materials and energy globally. Through Léni Maroglou, Head of Development for the Digital Professional Training department at Nouvelles Donnes Group (opens in new tab), Drillster was introduced to The Shift Project. Because Nouvelles Donnes, a management consulting firm, already works with Drillster, Léni knew the adaptive learning app well. One thing led to another, and Drillster is now available free of charge to every The Shift Project member so they can develop and anchor essential knowledge. We spoke with Léni about the partnership.
First of all, could you tell us a little more about The Shift Project?
"The Shift Project (TSP) is a fast-growing French non-profit organization. In short, it is a think tank that advocates for a shift to an economy that no longer depends on fossil fuels. The organization is dedicated to informing and influencing the energy transition debate in Europe through scientific objectivity. To do that, we collect research and evidence. We also create strategic plans that help people and policymakers understand what climate change is and how it actually works. At the same time, we look at concrete ways to manage our planet more sustainably. The goal is to build greater awareness of climate change and engage people in the solution."
You can find more information about The Shift Project on the website (opens in new tab).
You are closely involved in the initiative. When did you decide to join TSP?
"I have been concerned about the environmental challenges our world is facing for a long time. When I became a father for the first time two years ago, that was the trigger. I felt I had to act. I had to contribute. I joined TSP to help spread knowledge about ecological topics."
What is your role within the organization?
"I am an active member of 'The Shift' and I contribute to projects that aim to develop a knowledge base covering ecological topics such as climate change, physics, how energy is produced, and more. We want as many people as possible to access this valuable information—starting with everyone within our own organization. That way, every member can build, refresh, and anchor their knowledge and skills. That is where Drillster comes in."
How do you use Drillster?
"I work with a team to make information available in Drillster. We create drills—short learning modules built around questions—on critical sustainability topics. This allows us to circulate knowledge across the organization and ensures everyone stays up to date. I already use Drillster at Nouvelles Donnes, so I knew it was exactly the tool I needed to help other TSP members retain knowledge. I reached out to Marco van Sterkenburg, Drillster's CEO. To back our mission, he offered to grant free access to the adaptive learning platform so we can get closer to our goal."
How does that support the organization?
"Drillster's platform makes it easy for us to co-create a significant amount of educational material, gather feedback, and keep improving it. It is a powerful and efficient way to strengthen the quality of our information and to transfer knowledge so that it sticks with our passionate members. We are very grateful for that!"
